Michael Patrick Kelly - Traces Tour

The stage architecture was centred around a 22-metre curved LED wall that served as the visual backbone of the show. Rather than separating IMAG and content into dedicated surfaces, both were merged into a single canvas, allowing live camera feeds and visual content to transition seamlessly throughout the performance. Complementing the main screen, an LED-clad cube emerged from beneath the stage floor through an integrated lift system, transforming from a scenic object into a dynamic performance platform. A dedicated B-stage introduced a intimate setting for the acoustic section, expanding the performance beyond the main stage.

The visual content drew heavily from the creative language of the latest album, translating its artwork and typography into a live environment. Large-scale typographic compositions, bespoke motion graphics and selected music video sequences were interwoven with live IMAG, creating a continuous visual narrative where filmed and live performance became part of the same storytelling language.

To reinforce the stage architecture, the lighting design was built around two sweeping lighting arches spanning the performance area. More than architectural features, they introduced additional depth and perspective while extending the visual volume of the stage. Carefully layered beam compositions and dynamic cueing allowed the lighting to evolve alongside the content, supporting each chapter of the show without competing with it. Together, lighting, video and stage architecture formed a unified production concept that maintained a consistent visual identity from the opening scene through to the finale.
